OARS High-Powered Rocket Launches in Scotland

Adam Hu, a PhD student at the Oxford Thermofluids Institute and president of the Oxford Aerospace and Rocketry Society (OARS), recently took part in the society’s high-powered rocket launches in Scotland.

The team successfully launched rockets using I-class solid-propellant motors, following a period of design, preparation and testing by OARS members.

The launches also relied on support from colleagues across the University, including staff working in administration, purchasing, finance and technical roles. Adam and the OARS team were keen to recognise this behind-the-scenes contribution and to show how this support feeds into student-led engineering activities.
