We are excited to announce that Gladys Ngetich, a DPhil student and Rhodes Scholar, at Oxford Thermofluids Institute has received the ASME IGTI Young Engineer Turbo Expo Participation Award (YETEP). This award is intended to support young engineers or engineering students in gas turbine (or related fields) with travel funding to attend the ASME Turbo Expo.

Gladys will be presenting her paper entitled A 3D Conjugate Approach for Analysing a Double-Walled Effusion-Cooled Turbine Blade, Gladys C Ngetich, Peter T Ireland, Alexander V Murray and Eduardo Romero. In this work, she presents a computationally efficient numerical approach for analysing a double-wall effusion cooled gas turbine blade. The novel analysis method permits rapid evaluation of key blade performance parameters including; mass flow consumption, film cooling effectiveness as well as metal temperature distribution.

She will receive her ASME award during the closing ceremony of the ASME Turbo Expo Conference in Lillestrøm, Norway on June 14.
