The institute has several low speed heat transfer rigs (wind tunnels), which are used for heat transfer measurements. These all use mesh heater technology to achieve a step change in temperature, to perform transient heat transfer experiments. IR cameras and/or liquid crystals are used for adiabatic wall or Heat Transfer Coefficient (HTC) measurements.
