I am an apprentice trained, HNC qualified mechanical technician. I have had many roles in the past including Project Engineer, CNC Machinist (Mills and Lathes), Tool Maker and Workshop Technician. I have previously worked in the medical, cryogenics and aeronautical sectors.
I started working at Oxford University as a Mechanical Workshop Technician in 2014, doing various machining based tasks in order to complete academic projects. I quickly became heavily involved in building the T6 Stalker and High Density Tunnel Hypersonic facilities which led me to a promotion to Research Technician, working for the Hypersonic Tunnels and Oxford Rotor Facility teams.
Outside of the lab, I spend the majority of my time raising my young family, but when I’m not doing that, I’m often found socialising with friends, building small projects, spending time by the coast or captaining a local pool team.
